Our dues paid members are encouraged to join and participate in any of the following committees.

Planning, Architecture and Zoning Committee - Meets to discuss, review and provide information pertaining to proposed changes, variances, and other land use issues that may affect our community. Committee members will work on the many issues that affect our heritage, history and the general development of our community. Encourages town officials to enforce current zoning regulations that affect the quality of life and safety of all residents.

 

Traffic, Safety, Public Works, Utilities and Beautification Committee - This committee acts as a neighborhood watch and focuses on issues that affect the safety of our community. This committee is aware of the appearance of our community and helps to ensure that it is kept clean and neat looking by communicating with town officials about situations that arise that need addressing. This committee pays special attention to our sidewalks and streets so they
are maintained regularly and are safe for residents. This committee works in conjunction with town officials and department heads in communicating concerns.


Parks and Recreation Committee
- Meets to discuss, review and provide information pertaining to proposed changes, developments, or other issues that currently affect or may help to improve the indoor or outdoor areas and town facilities within our community. The ability to properly communicate and collaboratively work with appropriate officials is extremely important to the success of this committee.

Membership and Communications Committee - Meets to discuss, review and provide information pertaining to WHNA membership drives, general membership communications and other methods which will suitably display and promote the efforts of the organization. The Secretary of the Board of Directors (BOD) shall be a member of this committee and must provide guidance to this committee as needed.

Senior Citizens Committee -
This committee works to ensure that the seniors of our community have adequate programs, does research and proposes enhancements to the current senior program. Issues that seniors face are researched and addressed with town officials as needed.

Building Community and Fundraising Committee - Meets to discuss, review and provide information and opportunities to implement various community-building events.  This committee is also responsible for holding a fund-raising event(s) to help financially sustain the organization throughout the upcoming year. The Treasurer of the Board of Directors (BOD) shall be a member of this committee and must provide guidance by researching legal fund-raising activities, methods or practices.

Youth Initiatives - This committee raises issues concerning the identified age groups (14-16 & 17-19 year olds), does research, and suggests ideas to town officials to foster programs that provide a safe, welcoming environment for them. This committee works in conjunction with town/village officials and organizations.
